Aug 15, 2010 - @tiff198325 Thanks Tiff. Timely question! We haven't done anything with all the stuff yet, but we're working on a plan to start having weekly contests to give the gear to our "fans." More to come on that in a month or so!
ShamiehAdam Says:
Aug 15, 2010 - Good stuff, guys! But how much does it cost?? And us crazy backpackers like to know how much everything weighs :P
CampingGearTV Says:
Aug 16, 2010 - @ShamiehAdam Thanks Adam. The Kestrel comes in a handful of sizes with different weights and price points. The biggest is the Kestrel 68, which weighs about 4 lbs 3 oz and costs about $200. The smallest is the Kestrel 28, which weighs about 2 lbs 10 oz and can be found for around $120.

Oct 6, 2010 - Wow. This review sucks. I can't even see the pack. It's setting on the floor. All I can see is you two shifting around in your seats enjoying hearing yourselves talk about nothing. If you want to see someone do some real backpack review videos check out JumpTheMap's videos.
CampingGearTV Says:
Oct 6, 2010 - @oldsettlerswood Sorry you didn't like it. If you watch the whole episode you'll see that the pack does make a lengthy appearance. ;) Yes, JumpTheMap has good stuff. Not sure that his "backpack reviews" bring a whole lot more to the table, but I do appreciate his work. Thanks for stopping by!
bunnythedog Says:
Oct 15, 2010 - Nice review, thank you. What was the maximum weight you placed in the bag for testing, and what was the distance you hiked with that weight?
CampingGearTV Says:
Oct 17, 2010 - @bunnythedog If memory serves me, we had this one at about 35 lbs and hiked about 3 miles.
burgernuds Says:
Nov 24, 2010 - sorry if i missed it, but what kestrel size was this?
CampingGearTV Says:
Nov 29, 2010 - @burgernuds We tried out the 68. Thanks for stopping by Kyle!
burgernuds Says:
Nov 29, 2010 - @CampingGearTV thanks, I just bought the 58 on sale for 140 shipped.
CampingGearTV Says:
Nov 29, 2010 - @burgernuds Nice. Can't go wrong with Osprey! - Josh

May 10, 2011 - Uhum.. Ooh Yeahh.. :D:D Btw, I have this pack, but it's 58L :) We're going to Switzerland in summer and I'm planning what I'm gonna pack and how to pack and I have a problem, I can't fit my daypack in my backpack.. So do you have any tips?? :) I'm from Finland, so if some spelling went wrong, don't mind! :D
gerberboy0100 Says:
Jun 4, 2011 - Do you think that the Kestrel 48 is worth the $160 price tag? I am between it and the kelty redwing 44 which i only $75.
CampingGearTV Says:
Jun 27, 2011 - @gerberboy0100 I'm not familiar with that Kelty, but I know they make good stuff. You might try and find them at REI or something and get a real close up look before deciding.

Sep 17, 2011 - I'm surprised nobody has said it before... BUT THIS REVIEW IS USELESS. Do either of you know anything at all about Backpacks and their different parts? Completely useless.

Jan 4, 2012 - when he say backphack sounds like dora the explorer ! LOL

Jan 4, 2012 - pinching a loaf in -20 sucks
stephalexis9 Says:
Jan 31, 2012 - @mnbowhunter1977 well, it wasn't completely useless, but I do agree with you. As future advice, CampingGearTV should OPEN the pack, show us where the hydration compartment is, if the lid has a pocket underneath, how big the front compartment is, etc. A video review is for details I can't see on a website. They just showed the bag on a man's back.
